Multiple displays -> collage issue - not getting full resolution.

Hi!

I have Lenovo Yoga 260, with Intel Core i5-6200U CPU / HD 520 GPU, Windows 10.

I'd like to use following displays configuration:

1) 1600 x 1200 x 60Hz

2) 1920 x 1200 x 60Hz

3) 1600 x 1200 x 60Hz

In multiple displays -> extended mode everything is OK, all displays work with its native resolution (I use

OneLink+ station and 3x DisplayPort -> DVI active converter, but its irrelevant for the case).

However in collage mode I get only (1600 x 3) x 1200 = 4800 x 1200 instead of (1600 + 1920 + 1600) x 1200 = 5120 x 1200.

"If the connected display devices are not the same, the maximum collage resolution will be: (Sum of widths of the maximum resolutions supported by the displays) x Minimum of Heights of the highest resolutions supported by the displays.".

So I should get full 5120 x 1200 res.

I didn't find any newer document (it's for Ivy Bridge), maybe it is obsolete or mistaken?

I tried:

- the newest Lenovo driver (20.19.15.4463)

- 15.40.25.4463 driver ( )

Both the same result.

I understand you are connecting 3 external monitors to your laptop using an active miniDP to DVI converter and you want to set a Collage mode with a resolution of 1600 x 1200 @ 60Hz each. I think you misunderstand the issue. I connected 3 display: 1600 x 1200, 1920 x 1200 and 1600 x 1200. This is working fine in extended mode - all monitors run at theirs max resolution.

Although when I switch to collage mode, all I get is 3 x (1600 x 1200) = 4800 x 1200. So the largest screen, which is 1920 x 1200 changes resolution to 1600 x 1200 (actually the displays shows it is in 1920 x 1200 res., but image is stretched as it was in 1600 x 1200, and HD Intel panel says the extended panel is in 4800 x 1200).

I would like to have 5120 x 1200 and I can't and this is issue.

On page 11, paragraph 3.5 it says, that:

My question is: is the manual wrong? If it is just impossible to mix resolution and get maximum resolution, please let me know.  

IMO this is not hardware related problem, but issue with the driver or Intel HD technology. In the same set-up (display configuration) I have no problem with setting 5120 x 1200 with AMD's Eyefinity (the same displays but another computer and Radeon graphic card).

The information is correct, it is necessary to review the Hz of each monitor, possibly it is necessary to reduce the Hz of the 1920 x 1200 monitor. I am assuming you are doing a collage with 2 external monitor plus laptop display. The processor supports 3 monitors. Mike C

No, I use 3 external displays (internal is off). All are 60 Hz. Everything is fine in extended mode. In collage the widest screen gets reduced from 1920 x 1200 to 1600 x 1200.

I think the problem is unsolvable due to lack of technical documentation and possible flaw in driver.

Thanks for help so far. I think it would be a waste of your time to further analyze the matter.

If you could contact with designers of Intel Core i5-6200U Processor you can ask whether they intend to support mixed resolution in the future. But if not, rather, nothing will could come up.

Basically I wanted to use collage Mode only for some old games do maybe it is not worth it.
