Hi Robert_U,

Thanks for the driver update, and the detailed post explaining what's new.

I'm afraid that the issue DirectX 10/11 games running in centred mode in fullscreen (Windows 8.1) does not appear to have been fixed on my system (i7-4500U with HD 4400, 64-bit).

Also, further to reports made for previous drivers (which you have kindly noted in the past), this driver still has issues with shaders in pre-DirectX 9 games (e.g. No One Lives Forever).

I can confirm that the issue where DX10/11 games do not scale to fill the screen when running a lower than native resolution is also still present in this latest driver on my system. From the forum reports, it seems like this was first reported more than 6 months ago without any resolution.

CLBenchmark still broken. AF is working which is insane considering how long it took, this is something I reported since 2011 (Sandy Bridge) over and over again to Intel.

Unfortunately, there are problems with both this post and the associated download.

For the record, we are trying to obtain the latest drivers for a CPU (Core i5-4670S) which has a HD4600 graphics unit.

The download page says that driver version 3960 is dated October 3. When I download v3960, inside the exe and zip files I find files dated 15 October.

After I installed version 3960, Windows Update offered me an update for my Intel WDDM (HD4600) graphics driver. When I install that driver, Windows tells me the provider is 'Intel Corporation', it is version (10.18.10.) 3977 and its date is 9 October. I cannot find this version of the driver on your website.

Please could you explain and/or clarify this situation. Best regards.

@ ConnaughtSystems, The date we use on the Download Center page for the drive is the date the CAT file was created, not the date the driver was posted or zipped. Regarding Windows Update and the 3977 driver, are you by any chance seeing this on a Surface Pro?

Thanks

Robert

The answer to your question is no.

I have now tried 5 different machines with HD4600 graphics, and on each and every one the Intel website *does not* present update 3977 and on each and every one Windows Update *does* present that update.

Please explain why update 3977 is not available for download.

Thankfully somebody has now corrected nearly all the errors on the HD2500 download page. However, there is still some confusion.

Let's have a look at some HD graphics downloads

HD4600 32 3960 win32_15367.exe website: 2014-10-03 files: 2014-10-15

HD4600 32 3960 win32_15367.zip website: 2014-10-03 files: 2014-10-15

HD4600 64 3960 win64_15367.exe website: 2014-10-03 files: 2014-10-15

HD4600 64 3960 win64_15367.zip website: 2014-10-03 files: 2014-10-15

HD2500 32 3958 win32_153330.exe website: 2014-10-23 files: 2014-10-20

HD2500 32 3958 win32_153330.zip website: 2014-10-23 files: 2014-10-03

HD2500 64 3958 win64_153330.exe website: 2014-10-23 files: 2014-10-20

HD2500 64 3958 win64_153330.zip website: 2014-10-24 files: 2014-10-03

The evidence suggests that the date on the website is either wrong or it cannot in all cases be the creation date of the CAT file (there are 2 cat files in each download).

Intel has chosen to identify downloads by a date which is meaningless and potentially confusing to the end user. Do you not think it would be better to quote either the date of posting or the date of the most recent file in the download, this would save a lot of confusion, especially when you get version numbers wrong, as happened last week on the HD2500 page.

The past two graphics driver updates(10.18.10.3960 and 10.18.10.3907) for Intel 4400 graphics for Windows 8.1 64 bit do not seem to work properly with Microsoft Office 2013. When I have either of those two drivers installed all Microsoft office programs I have show up blurry; I have attached a photo. For now I have reverted to driver 10.18.10.3621 and it works fine. Here is my original post in more detail: .

@ ktm583, Could you try running the Cleartype tuner to see if the font appearance improves? Here are good instructions if you are not familiar with using the tuner: http://www.insideris.com/windows-8-tips-enable-cleartype-optimization/ Windows 8 Tips: Enable ClearType Optimization

Please post back with your results.

Thanks

@ktm - can you check to make sure you don't have CMAA turned on in the Intel control panel? CMAA is a post processing Anti-Aliasing technique which can reduce jaggies in gaming if the game itself doesn't support AA or only offers traditional MSAA (which hurts performance too much).

CMAA should only be turned on before launching games and then turned off after. It may cause blurring any other applications that were launched during the time the CMAA setting was enabled in the control panel.

I turned of CMAA, and it got rid of the blury letters. I had tried turning off CMAA in the first driver that had CMAA and it did not work, so I did not consider trying it on this newest driver.

Thanks.

I recently posted serious findings about critical bug found in this drivers line with highly technical details. And this affects not only single computer, it affects laptops and desktops - we tried several computers. Just simple texture copy - ID3D11DeviceContext::CopyResource slows down all graphics system (but .3958 driver works fine). You can't even move mouse. And my post what deleted ( /thread/56499 https://communities.intel.com/thread/56499 ). Are you still interested to fix this bug? Should I resend my message?

Hello,

I use the Ubuntu14.04 system. My hardware is CPU i7-4770 and GPU HD 4600. I want to ask 2 questions:

1.I want to use OpenCL to control both the device, but it can not recognize the GPU. Do I have to install the GPU driver first?

I only intalled the "intel_sdk_for_ocl_applications_2014_ubuntu_4.6.0.92_x64".

2.If I have to install the GPU driver, why there is not any Ubuntu version? or linux version? but only windows version?

Thanks.

Hello Intel community,

since a few weeks I'm using Windows 8.1 64 bit on a 2013 Macbook Air with Intel Core i5-4250U and Intel HD Graphics 5000 and I'm wondering if you could update the graphics driver to almost "fully" support the latest games released such as Assassin's Creed Unity and Far Cry 4, which are really unplayable. I know this isn't a Nvidia GTX770 or an AMD graphics card but I'm hoping for a few FPS gain on those with less to no graphics bug affecting those games (even though maybe we have to blame Ubisoft on that...!)

Call of Duty Advanced Warfare was better playable and enjoyable but could you also take a look on that, speaking about performance?

Thanksss

The control panel cannot be opened by the time I upgraded the Intel HD Graphics driver from version 10.18.10.3316 to 10.18.10.3960 . Confusion had began within me because i am afraid to lose my Intel computer if this "update thing" could be the culprit of my graphics hardware to blow off. Please help me. Thanks.
