Cable length for SR300

I have installed a SR300 at my desktop computer. I have the Windows Hello working and the camera/mic working otherwise but the cable for the SR300 isn't really long enough to reach to the top of either of my monitors. The CPU is on the floor but the cable is just short by about 12-18". Like the SR300 camera and the resulting capabilities. I would like to get another cable long enough or extend the one I have. Help? Thanks in advance...

I am successfully using 5m active USB3 extension cables. This is what I am currently using http://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/comsol-usb3-0-active-extension-cable-5m-cou3ae05 Comsol USB3.0 Active Extension Cable 5m | Officeworks

The success of this can be dependent on your USB power though

Hello dabarch,

Thank you for interest in the Intel® RealSense™ Technology.

You should keep in mind that the cables we ship with these cameras have been tested and rated specifically for the camera. Another cable may or may not work. So we can't recommend using another cable or performing any modification to the one that comes with the camera.

Hello debarch,

For me use USB extension cables worked when connected between the camera and the computer active hub USB 3.0 (USB extension cables is connected to camera and to the active hub and the computer sees the camera and the signal does not disappear)

I have cameras SR300 and R200 and my active HUB USB 3.0 is the "TP-LINK UH700" , before I used some USB extension cables and signal disappear or cameras don't work.

The following link to the manufacturer's description of the hub but surely other active USB hubs 3 will also operate only need to check it out on your own hardware.
