I'd like to stop SR300 from going into Power Saving Mode!

Hi,

I use the SR300 camera as a multi-user login tool with Windows Hello, but it keeps going into "power saving mode". When it's running, it works fine and logs in the present user, but it will only stay awake for so long (ca. 30 minutes) and then become unresponsive.

I've switched off all power saving for the USB ports and disabled USB selective suspend already.

Thanks for your help!

Benji

You could also try setting the Windows Power Plan to 'never' so that a sleep state can never activate. This would have consequences for power drain if you are on a laptop though, of course.

For further research on this subject, there is an Intel article about power-saving, and controlling the power-saving functions with SDK code. Scroll down to section 3, 'Power Savings Mechanisms in the Intel® RealSense SDK'. Section 3.3 is particularly relevant.

Hi Andres,

Thanks for your feedback! No, I didn't have the chance to try the second solution, since I'm not a programmer and can't implement code. The system wakes from sleep fine BTW, along with the camera...

It would be really helpful for somebody from Intel to write a quick utility for setting the power plan on the camera. Or for Windows to allow choosing this.

All I want is for the camera to stay on indefinitely looking for users on the lock screen.

All the best,

Benji
