Upon installing the latest Beta Intel GPU driver, I'm greeted with this message
I've installed non-WHQL signed drivers in the past (many of them being Beta/Hotfix Intel GPU drivers) and all it required was I click 'Agree' when the Windows security box pops-up, and even after rebooting it behaved normally. With this driver (15.45.4614), I have to disable driver signature enforcement each time to get it to load.
Wondering if this is unique to my system or is a known issue.
My specs are
- Windows 10 64bit 14393.693
- Intel i3 6100H / 2c/4t 2.70GHz
- 8GB 1600MHz
- NVIDIA 940M 2GB
- Samsung 128GB NVME

Hello GhostMotleyXT:
Based on the information you gave us above, it says the computer is working with NVIDIA 940M 2GB, that means the graphics drivers that are needed belong to Nvidia, unless the computer is using both Nvidia and Intel.
Please provide the model of the computer you are using so we can confirm that information and also to verify which is the latest version of the graphics driver provided by the manufacturer?
Here is the site for Nvidia drivers:
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx
Did you try to install driver 4590:

Any further questions, please let me know.

Hi, this is an Optimus laptop.
It's a custom built PCSpecialist laptop, the Cosmos IV, the model is the 'W65_W67RB'.
I'm currently running the 15.45.14.4590 (15.45) driver from Intel and the 378.77 driver from NVIDIA (a non-WHQL driver, installed without issue)
Thanks.

Hello GhostMotleyXT:
Thank you very much for providing that information.
Remember that the manufacturer of the laptop has the option to limit the drivers that will work with the laptop. That could be the reason why you get that message, and that is why we recommend to use the drivers provided by them.
Also, on the following link you will see the following note: "This driver is not certified by Microsoft and may generate a warning when installing."
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26604/Graphics-Intel-Graphics-Driver-Beta-15-45- https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26604/Graphics-Intel-Graphics-Driver-Beta-15-45-
Based on that, for you to get that error message is actually expected.
Now, as an alternative, you can try to install the driver manually, it might get installed that way, on the following link you will find the instructions to do that:
http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005629.html http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005629.html
Any questions, please let me know.

The iGPU in this laptop is not limited to work with OEM specific drivers, generic Intel ones work just fine.
I get the warning when installing the driver, but as I said in the original post, with previous unsigned (non-WHQL) drivers I would click 'Install', driver would install, regular reboot and everything would be ok.
However, with this driver, warning comes up, I click 'Install' and at the end I get the error in the original post. I restart and the driver doesn't load, I have to manually disable driver signature enforcement everytime I want the driver to load. With previous Beta/non-WHQL Intel graphics drivers I didn't have to do this.
Thanks

So I decided to try out an older Beta (non-WHQL) Intel GPU driver to see if I'd get different results, I tried the 15.40.xx.4539 driver that was released 10/20/2016
- https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26347/Intel-Beta-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-and-Windows-7-8-1-15-40-?product=88345 Download Intel® Beta Graphics Driver for Windows® 10 and Windows 7*/8.1* [15.40]
I experienced the same error as I did with the current latest beta (15.45.4614), while installing it, box pops up, I click 'Install' and at the end of the installation, Windows blocks it, only way to get it to load is to manually disable driver signature enforcement each time.
Interestingly enough, I'm only experiencing this with Intel GPU drivers, I installed the Beta/Hotfix (non WHQL) 378.77 driver from NVIDIA and it installed just fine and Windows didn't block it.
I click Install
At the end Windows doesn't block it, I reboot and it loads just fine.
Based on this, I'd assume either the signatures are outdated, or a recent windows update causes issues.

Hello GhostMotleyXT:
Thank you very much for sharing the pictures and that information on this thread, I am sure it will be really helpful for all the peers viewing this post.
Yes, the drivers will work depending on the manufacturer of the computer, some of them are blocked by them and you will not be able to install them, some of them are Beta meaning that they are no signed officially by Microsoft and there are also production drivers like 4590, those are signed by them so we recommend to use those in the case you want to install Intel drivers, based on that you might get that type of error messages, it seems to be the Nvidia drivers are not block by the manufacturer of the computer or by Microsoft that is why you were able to install it.
Any questions, please let me know.

I think your OS is win 10 Home, windows 10 home is not allowed to installed not digitally signed drivers, you need to upgraded your win to min win 10 pro or win 10 for students.

I'm running Windows 10 Enterprise on this machine. I guess either the signatures Intel use have expired, or a recent Windows update has changed something. I find it weird how this only affects Beta Intel GPU drivers though, NVIDIA ones install just fine.

ok have double checked no matter is it Home Pro or Entrer you should be able to install driver. In my case then I install unsigned drivers I have to reload pc and to switch off Microsoft driver sign enforcement. you can try via cmd to disable enforcement.
follow steps in https://www.howtogeek.com/167723/how-to-disable-driver-signature-verification-on-64-bit-windows-8.1-so-that-you-can-install-unsigned-drivers/ How to Disable Driver Signature Verification on 64-Bit Windows 8 or 10 (So That You Can Install Unsigned Drivers)
I have tried these drivers as well, my machine crashed twice with BSOD error, went back to stable drivers no problems

I would do that, but it would mean disabling Secure Boot for this machine, I'm using the latest stable driver right now. Hopefully in future Intel update their signatures or figure out what causes this.
Thanks
