We investigate the possibility of using RealSense SR300 for determining face mesh for the AR purposes.
When testing in Unity3D in a few seconds the picture freezes and Unity hangs.
What could be wrong? What do you recommend?

Face recognition in R3 is unfortunately unstable. Development of the Windows face module has ceased, so there will not be a fix for it.
The official recommendation is that the previous SDK version, R2, is used instead for face recognition. This can be downloaded with the link below, which launches as a 1.8 gb download in the browser when clicked on.

Hi Marty,
Do you know why the face module is released unstable?
I am very interested to hear why Intel would release a piece of unstable software.

I cannot speak for the RealSense development team. However, the '2016 R3' SDK was released at a time when the development ecosystem was fragmented between a few different SDKs (2016 R3, Librealsense and the RealSense SDK For Linux). This issue has now been solved by the release of the RealSense SDK 2.0, which is the single SDK for all platforms going forward. This means that development attention and resources can be focused on that one SDK.
Also, it is the nature of complex products that problems may not appear during development and testing under laboratory conditions. So issues may only become known once the software has been released and the public has had the opportunity to use it on a wide variety of computer configurations.
Development work on the Windows version of the RealSense face module has now ceased, so there will not be an update for the R3 SDK.

This issue seems to occur on the R2 version of the SDK as well
