After updating to the latest bios (AYAPLCEL.86A.0038.EB.EXE)

The creen turns black for a second about every minute

Ik read other ppl had/have the same issue but I could find solutions.

Any solution available?

Hello Antoon55,

I understand that after you updated the BIOS of the Intel® NUC NUC6CAYH the screen flickers every minute.

Let me apologize for any inconvenience this issue may be causing to you.

In order to help you better I would like to gather more information about the configuration you have in the computer. Please attach to this thread the .txt file the Intel® System Support Utility will generate https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility

Please also attach the Intel Graphics Driver Report. This link will show you how to generate it https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005848.html https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005848.html

What type of video cable are you using between the Intel NUC and the monitor?

To attach a file, you must click "Use Advanced Editor" on the upper right hand corner of the response box, then the "attach" option will appear on the bottom right hand corner of the response box.

Regards,

Hi Fred,

Thanks for the reply.

The flickering is random,

It can happen after 5 seconds or after a minute etc.

It is like the screen goes into sleep mode and wakes up immediately again.

I attached the requested files,

I use a VGA cable.

I can hook up a HDMI display though..

Hello Antoon55,

Thanks for the information you sent to me.

I would like you to try installing different version of the graphics driver. You can download it from this link https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26836/Graphics-Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-15-45-?product=96553 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26836/Graphics-Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-15-45-?product=96553

As soon as the graphics driver has been downloaded on the keyboard press WinLogo key + r, then type in devmgmt.msc, double click on Display Adapters -> Intel HD Graphics -> Driver tab -> Uninstall -> Select the check box Delete the driver software for this device -> OK, restart the computer, and then reinstall the driver I provided.

If issue persists try downgrading the BIOS the computer. Please try the BIOS version that is on this link https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26638/BIOS-Update-AYAPLCEL-86A-?product=95062 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26638/BIOS-Update-AYAPLCEL-86A-?product=95062

Let me know if issue persists or not.

Regards,

Hi Fred,

Today I connected a display via HDMI and the problem didn't occur.

I will use the HDMI connection from now on and won't mess with drivers and bios cause it works now.

I can't imagine I will ever connect a VGA again so for me case closed

Thanks for the support!

Reagrds,

Antoon

FYI - for me BIOS version 42 seemed to solve the problem with VGA black screens.
