Hello bb8,

We understand that you're experiencing performance issues with your Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 adapter, as well as issues installing the latest Bluetooth* driver.

In order to better assist you, we'd like to get some more information first:

  1. Was this adapter pre-installed in your system by your computer manufacturer, or was it a replacement or upgrade part?
  2. What is the brand and model of your router or access point?
  3. Download and run the https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility Intel® System Support Utility. This application will scan your system and allow you to save the report. Please attach the report to your response using the "advanced editor" option (top right of the reply box).

Best regards,

Hello bb8,

We regret to inform you that your current hardware configuration is not supported. While the adapter is fully compatible with Windows® 10, it may be presenting compatibility issues with your laptop. Please refer to the following articles:

- http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/network-and-i-o/wireless-networking/000005687.html Regulatory Information Regarding Wireless Hardware Installation or Upgrade.

- http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/network-and-i-o/wireless-networking/000005846.html Why Doesn't My Laptop Recognize My New Intel® Wireless Adapter?

We understand how this may be frustrating, specially considering the adapter was working well before. However in some cases, the compatibility gap may be worsened by installing further Windows* updates. It's worth noting that Toshiba*, your OEM, does not officially support Windows® 10 on your system.

Please remember that your wireless adapter needs two separate drivers, one for the Bluetooth* and one for Wireless module:

- https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26465 Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers for Windows® 10 Version 19.20.3

Aside from this, we can suggest applying our http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/network-and-i-o/wireless-networking/000005544.html recommended wireless settings, or contacting your http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/topics/oems.html computer manufacturer to verify your system compatibility.

bb8,

We understand your frustration. However, wireless adapters are not intended to be sold as retail items, but rather to and through OEMs. The reason for this is that there are very many different models with varying features, and it's very difficult for us to determine what the requirements are for your specific system.

For example, the Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 comes in 6 different models (plus subparts), each is a variation intended for different regulatory situations and standards.

- http://ark.intel.com/products/75439/Intel-Dual-Band-Wireless-AC-7260# @ordering Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 Product Specifications

What we recommend is that whenever possible, to purchase the upgrade adapter directly from your OEM. We do not support wireless integrations nor upgrades. For this instances your support will need to come through your OEM, or the integrator of the adapter (your pc repair guy).

In a best effort basis, we can recommend performing a clean installation of your Bluetooth* drivers. Please remember that since the issue is out of our support scope, we cannot guarantee a resolution.

For a clean installation of your Bluetooth* drivers you will need to do the following:

1- Download and save the latest Bluetooth* drivers for your adapter. As an additional step, you may test our IT Admin driver version instead of the regular download.a. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26510 Intel® Wireless Bluetooth® Software for Windows® 10 Version 19.30.1649

b. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26513 Intel® Wireless Bluetooth® Software for IT Administrators (BT_19.30.1649_64_Win10.zip)2- Uninstall the Intel® Wireless Bluetooth Software (or Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software for Bluetooth(R) Technology) from your Programs and Features in the Control Panel.

3- Remove the Bluetooth driver from Device Manager > Bluetooth* > Right click on the Bluetooth* module and select "Uninstall", making sure that the option to "Delete the driver software from this device" is selected (if available).

4- Remove temporary files: Press the Windows* Key + R to open the run box. Type Cleanmgr.exe. Press OK. Select the main drive, usually "C:\". Check Temporary Files and uncheck everything else. Press OK.

5- Reboot

6- Install the latest Bluetooth* driver.a. If you're choosing to install the IT Admin driver, you will need to extract the compressed (*.zip) file to a known location.

b. Open Device Manager, locate your Bluetooth* adapter. Right click and choose to "Update Driver Software..."

c. Locate and install the driver software manually, and select the extract location.

We do hope this helps.

Best regards,
