How to disable "Display Power Saving Technology" for the plugged in laptop?

Hello!:) Read several treads. Quite a few people have this issue, however couldn't find a solution to my one.

I turned it off in the Intel® HD Graphics Control Panel. While the laptop is running on battery, its fine. But the Display Power Saving Technology starts working again once the laptop is plugged in (I don't have an option in the Intel control panel to switch between battery and plugged-in modes). I updated drivers (used windows device manager, because the Intel(R) Driver Update Utility was not able to do so). Here is my info:

Windows 10 Pro

Lenovo yoga book

Cry for help: you cant even imagine how annoying it is to sit in a room full of light having a white page on the word doc open - and still get a very low brightness level. Please help!

Hi Santst ,

You should check the Power Options in Control Panel. Go to Change plan settings of the selected option and then Change advanced power options. There look for Display Options and you have an option there Enable Adaptive Brightness and you have to disable it.

Also you should check if you don't have an application from Lenovo active that controls power options. In that case you should check if it doesn't override the settings you make.

I hope you found this helpful.

Hello Alberto,

I apologize for the delayed reply.

Unfortunately the problem still remains. The solution provided by Ronin does not solve the problem (I already have the adaptive brightness turned off). I have created a thread in Microsoft - currently waiting for a response. I have also contacted Lenovo support - they also suggested to turn off windows' adaptive brightness - since I already have it off, waiting for further help from them. Moreover, I did not find any Lenovo specific applications on my Yoga book.

I also installed one Lenovo application to try and solve the problem (Lenovo settings). However, it did not help. I still believe that the issues is in the intel control panel, as I was able to solve the problem for the battery mode.

I've seen screenshots. Some people have options for battery/plugged in.

Mine shows this - no options:

Kindest regards,

Stanislav

Hello Santst:

No problem at all, we do know it takes time to try different troubleshoot steps.

Please try the following driver, it is version 4501, according to the released notes of the driver it is the proper one for your processor, you can check the released notes on the link below as well:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26228/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-and-Windows-7-8-1-15-40- https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26228/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-and-Windows-7-8-1-15-40-

Not sure if this is your laptop because there are different models for Lenovo Yoga Book, but you can try the following graphic driver:

http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/Tablets/Yoga-Series/YOGA-Book?linkTrack=Caps%253ABody_SearchProduct&tabName=downloads&beta=false http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/Tablets/Yoga-Series/YOGA-Book?linkTrack=Caps%253ABody_SearchProduct&tabName=downloads&beta=false

A BIOS update might be helpful in this case, here is the file to do it, but in you need assistance about how to do it, then the best thing to do is to verify those details with Lenovo directly:

Please let me know the results of trying the steps above.

Any questions, please let me know.

Regards
