Not getting 867 Mbps speed on Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265

I can't get ac speeds and the Intel Wi-Fi utility says I'm connected to the Wi-Fi a band. I have a Lenovo Edge 15 with a fifth generation i-7. I upgraded the Wi-Fi to Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 because stock was single band. I know its not my router because my cell phone is getting 433 Mbps.

Hello Teriusj,

Here are some actions that may help improve the connectivity of the wireless adapter:

1. Do a clean install of the most recent wireless driver. Make sure to uninstall and delete the previous driver before installing the new one.

You should be able to obtain the most recent driver from the http://www.intel.com/support/oems.htm PC Manufacturer, or you may get the generic 17.16.0 version from https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/83635/Intel-Dual-Band-Wireless-AC-7265 Intel® Download Center.

2. Apply the configuration from the advisory: http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/sb/CS-030709.htm?wapkw=wifi+recommended+settings What are the Recommended Settings for 802.11n Connectivity?

* These settings also apply for Wireless AC.

3. Make sure your network is using a current Authentication Protocol, such as WPA2-AES. For testing purposes, you can try disabling authentication and test the connection again.
