(HD Graphics 620) My laptop stopped detecting my second monitor

Hello,

I have a Spectre x360, which has an Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7500U CPU 2.70GHz, the GPU is a HD Graphics 620. I use this laptop with a second monitor attached, which it use to detect. Today it stopped doing so. I have tried everything, from the classic "turn off-turn on" and "unplug-replug" to updating all my drivers. Nothing has worked. I had not installed any new apps on my laptop before it stopped recognizing my second monitor. I would appreciate your help.

Thanks,

Hi nassefperdomo: Thank you very much for contacting the Intel® Graphics communities. We are sorry to hear the laptop is not working properly.

I looked for graphics drivers on HP's web site for Windows® 10, not sure if that is exactly the model of the laptop you have, please try to install driver version 4240:

Also, we can try to install driver version 4849, which is the latest version for the Intel® HD Graphics 620 controller:

Just to confirm, which Windows version are you using?

Which video port are you using to connect the monitor?

Are you sure the video cable and the monitor are working fine? If you have the option to use a different video cable and a different monitor that will be really helpful to rule out a possible problem with one of them.

If the problem persists after that, then the next thing to do will be to get in contact with HP directly, they might be able to provide further suggestions like a BIOS update on the laptop or to re-install some drivers like the chipset and management engine.

I found the source of the problem. It had nothing to do with the drivers or the chip. Thanks anyway for your help.
