I have an Asus UX303LN with a Intel® Core™ i7-4510U Processor with Intel HD Graphics 4400. Windows 10 64 bits.
I've been having this error with my Graphics Driver.
I uninstall the driver. I scan for hardware changes.
Version 10.18.15.4256 from 17/07/2015.
I try to update it through Windows, I can't. I'm up to date.
I use the Intel Driver Update Utility 2.6:
Intel® Iris™, Iris™ Pro, and HD Graphics Production Driver for Windows® 10 64-bit
15.40.4.64.4256 (Not the latest version)
Date: 5/8/2015

Intel® Graphics Driver for Windows® 10 [15.33]
15.33.38.64.4252 (Not the latest version)

Neither is the latest version. And my processor (i7-4510U) is not in the valid products list from the official page of the driver.
I try to install it anyway. This happens:
So I try to get the latest version.
Intel® Graphics Driver for Windows® 10 [15.40][4th Gen]
Version: 15.40.25.4463 (Latest)
Date: 6/17/2016

And my processor is in the valid products list! Seems perfect, right?
To recap:
Windows tells me everything's fine.
The Intel Driver Update Utility gives me two older drivers that don't install.
The latest driver from the Intel website also refuses to install.
Meanwhile, this happened again:
I just want to update my driver and stop getting errors. It shouldn't be this hard. Hope you can help.

Same Problem on several different Lenovo ThinkCentre E73 PCs with Intel Pentium G Processor but with Windows 7 x64.
Older Driver works.

Thanks, but seeing as you're using Windows 7, I don't think that helps me. I can't install even the older drivers.

Hello RicardoL:
At this point what we can try is to un-install the current driver and re-install the driver version 4463 manually, by doing that, we might be able to make it work:
Instructions to un-install the driver manually:
http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005598.html http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005598.html

Driver 4463:

Once we tried that, if the problem persists, then in that case, it means that the laptop requires the driver from the manufacturer, ASUS, and a BIOS update to the latest version might be needed as well.
On the following link you will find the drivers for the laptop:
https://www.asus.com/Notebooks/ASUS-ZenBook-UX303LN/HelpDesk_Download/ https://www.asus.com/Notebooks/ASUS-ZenBook-UX303LN/HelpDesk_Download/
Please let me know the results of trying the steps above.
Also, if you need the instructions of how to do the BIOS update, then, you can always get in contact with ASUS directly, so they can let you know all that information:
ASUS's phone number: 1-877-339-2787
ASUS's support site: https://www.asus.com/us/support/ https://www.asus.com/us/support/
Any questions, please let me know.

I just wanted to check if the information posted above was helpful for you, and if the issue about doing the anniversary still persists or if it was resolved?
Any questions, please let me know.

Hi Alberto,
First of all, thank you for your help.
Right now, I have the "standard" driver. The one the computer returns to after uninstalling the current one: version 10.18.15.4256 from 17/07/2015. The problem hasn't happened for a while, so I'm wary of updating right now.
I think I'll keep it as is and, if something happens, I'll update to Driver 4463 hoping the system errors that prevented me from installing it don't happen if I install it manually.
A few more things: The BIOS is updated to the latest version. About the drivers from the manufacturer: there are none. ASUS does not have any driver available for this computer in Windows 10.
Thanks again.

Hello RicardoL:
Thank you very much for that information.
Perfect, actually some laptops are design to work either with the drivers provided by the manufacturer, and some other laptops work with the Inbox drivers, those are the ones that get installed when you installed Windows® or when you do a Windows® update.
So, if those drivers are working fine, there is no need to install the 4463 driver.
It is great to hear that the laptop is working fine now.
Any other inquiry, do not hesitate to contact us again.

We have confirmed the same Problem on Fujitsu Esprimo P Computers with Intel Core i3 CPUs (Windows 7 64 bit).
I strongly suggest you (Intel) to make contact with Microsoft and have the faulty Update removed from Windows Update.
Before 2016/07/26 the Driver from Windows Update worked fine with all mentioned PCs.
