Cannot get updates to install with Intel Extreme Tuning Utility

Hello,

I have been using intel extreme tuning utility on my lenovo y510p laptop for years and it has worked great.

The one issue I do have with it is it cant successfully install updates. It will notify me when an update is available and even download it but when it attempts to install the update it says something like update cannot be verified for authenticity or something to that effect. The way I have been working around this is redownloading the entire intel extreme tuning app when the intel website updates their downloadable version to the latest version.

So my question to you all is there anything I can do to be able to successfully install updates directly from the extreme tuning utility app without it giving me the error ?

Thanks

cliff_b: Thank you very much for contacting the Intel® communities. We are sorry to hear the tool is not working as expected.

In regard to your inquiry, the Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility was design to overclock, monitor, and stress a system, those are the main features or the functionality that this specific tool has:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24075/Intel-Extreme-Tuning-Utility-Intel-XTU- https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24075/Intel-Extreme-Tuning-Utility-Intel-XTU-

In order to download the latest drivers you can always use the Intel® Driver and support assistant:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24345/Intel-Driver-Support-Assistant?product=128824 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24345/Intel-Driver-Support-Assistant?product=128824

Since that tool was design to work with Intel boards, it might not be that accurate in finding and installing the drivers. In this case that you are using a Lenovo laptop what we recommend is to install the drivers manually from the manufacturer's web site:

https://support.lenovo.com/uu/en/ https://support.lenovo.com/uu/en/

Additionally, Lenovo might have a tool created for the same purpose, by getting in contact with them directly you will be able to confirm if that is the case and also gather the instruction of how to download it.

Any further questions, please let me know.

Regards,

Thanks Alberto,

I guess I will have to continue manually redownloading the extreme tuning utility when it gets updated.

cliff_b: You are very welcome. At this point that will be the workaround for that specific tool.
