Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool stopped working

I just built my computer based on i7-6700 using MOBO Gigabyte Z170N-Gaming 5. The built is standard with built-in GPU.

I tried to run Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool and everytime after the first run, I keep getting "Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool 64 bit has stopped working". A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.

I uninstall and re-install without luck. The same error message appears.

Anyone has this problem? Any pointers?

Thanks

I am sorry to hear you have been getting problems trying to run the Intel® processor diagnostic tool.

I just tested version 4.0.0.29 and it ran correctly.

Please download the file https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/19792/Intel-Processor-Diagnostic-Tool here

I downloaded the file and was able to install and run. Only PCH fails among all the tests. See the result log below. Can you tell me if the CPU is defective based on the output?

Glad to hear you were able to run the Intel® processor diagnostic tool.

Did you try to run the tool several times? Does it fail every time you run the program?

I ran 5 times and get the same result with PCH failed every single time. Does this mean that my CPU is defective? I just bought recently.

Yes, there is something wrong that is triggering PCH test as failed.

If you are still under 30 days of purchase. I recommend contacting your place of purchase for warranty return.

Yes I was able to get an exchange with a new CPU. Will install this weekend and rerun the test again.

Thanks for checking.

I replace with the new CPU i7-6770 and I get the same fail result at PCH. I replaced the mobo and now just replaced the CPU. What could it be?

IPDT64 Failed

PCH is the actual motherboard chipset. I would check this information directly with the board maker. I understand you have replaced the board but there might be something wrong that is triggering this failure message.
