Hello MonCal,

We understand your SSD is only showing 8MB size and the firmware update does not work. We would like to let you know that if the firmware update does not work, you can also try to secure erase the drive, you may try using our https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26776/Intel-Solid-State-Drive-Toolbox Intel® Solid-State Drive Toolbox or https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/memory-and-storage/000022179.html Diskpart in case you use Windows*.In case this does not work, please get in contact with our http://www.intel.co.uk/content/www/uk/en/support/contact-support.html?_ga=2.205579347.1949672686.149... support department for further assistance.Regards,Nestor C

Sorry for my late response, all the communication had to run through another person's computer.

But here is my answer.

With the solid-state drive toolbox or DiskPart I could not restore the bug.

I have this can recover from this link

https://ssl.translatoruser.net/bv.aspx?from=nl&to=en&a=https://freek.ws/2014/11/12/how-to-fix-an-unb... https://freek.ws/2014/11/12/how-to-fix-an-unbootable-intel-ssd-suffering-from-the-8mb-bug/

Does sorry that I have received no update for my laptop via HP envy 17 to the bug to recover with an ssd firmware update, especially because I notice that the bug was known in 2012.

Also, all my data lost. Luckily I still had my backups to a large extent.

Hi Nestor,

The first thing I did is to a Dutch website. If you're out there on the "need more help click" join "contact support" and this is an English-language site. Then I hatched at "support community" which I had to log in to start a asks, so no actually, it was not possible to contact the support department.

Am started to look in the intel community to "bad_ctx" "320 ssd series " "8 mb" " 320 series firmware update" "bug " etc, but nowhere does it say listed what the right solution. I am then go google and am at the Internet site come true which I have mentioned earlier in my response, which was the only one who mentioned the solution point by point.

Regards

MonCal
