Unable to fit HDMI output to entire TV screen

Hello,

I have a GIGABYTE mini pc GB-BXBT-2807 with integrated intel HD graphics.

The problem I having is that the HDMI output doesn't scale to the entire TV screen correctly. Using the resize options on the Panasonic TV remote doesn't expand the picture without it being oversized.

I have tried various Intel drivers, non of which have the overscan option. I have also used the Intel Update utility to install the latest drivers.

This is really frustrating as whole purpose of purchasing the mini pc was to use as a media box for my TV.

I have also used the Intel Graphics identification tool, which advises the graphics card is in fact an Intel Graphics HD 4600 GPU . I haven't been able to install the Intel 4600 drivers manually as i receive warning the drivers are not compatible. Running Windows x64 8.1 pro.

I have tried contacting the manufacturer of the PC but they referred me to Intel.

Hello newtoitall,

I understand picture does not fit TV screen.

Let me apologize for any inconvenience this issue may be causing to you.

I would like you to try adjusting Scaling options on the Intel® Graphics Control Panel.

Please try the steps that are on the screenshot I attached to this forum thread.

Let me know if issue persists or not.

Regards,

Hi Fred,

Thanks for your reply, but unfortunately the "scaling" options that are in your screen shot do not appear on my PC.

Please refer to the screenshot in my first post, which clearly shows I do not have "CUSTOMIZE ASPECT RATIO"

I believe this is a driver issue or limitation of the integrated graphics chip.

Please clearly review my first post, and escalate with 2nd line support if necessary.

thanks

Hello newtoitall,

I would like you to try updating the graphics driver.

Please download the graphics driver that is on this link https://downloadmirror.intel.com/26682/eng/win64_154034.4624.zip https://downloadmirror.intel.com/26682/eng/win64_154034.4624.zip

Please install the driver with the steps that are on this YouTube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1KzoQDjMMY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1KzoQDjMMY

As soon as the graphics driver has been updated check if you get or not the "Customized Aspect Ratio" option on different screen resolutions.

Let me know your findings.

Regards,

Dear Fred,

Many thanks for your post.

I downloaded the x64 drivers in your link and followed the youtube clip to install the drivers, however Windows is not accepting the drivers... Please see below the screen shot showing the error. I received similar warnings when i attempted this previously.

Please note these appear to be the correct drivers for the OS (Windows 8.1 x64), so do not understand why windows is complaining.

Please advise

Hello newtoitall,

Thanks for the additional information you sent to me.

I would like you to try installing latest graphics driver Gigabyte* provides on their website for your computer. You can download it from this link http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Driver/brix-baytrail_driver_vga_64bit.exe http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Driver/brix-baytrail_driver_vga_64bit.exe

Please uninstall current graphics driver first. In order to uninstall current graphics driver on the keyboard press WinLogo key + r, then type in devmgmt.msc, double click on Display Adapters -> Intel HD Graphics -> Driver tab -> Uninstall -> Select the check box Delete the driver software for this device -> OK, restart the computer, and then reinstall the driver I provided.

Let me know if you get or not the "Customized Aspect Ratio" option on different screen resolutions.

Regards,

Hello Fred

I have followed your steps, and same issue. See screen shot, no settings to "Customized Aspect Ratio" , regardless if BASIC or ADVANCED mode.

Hello newtoitall,

Since you are not getting the "Customized Aspect Ratio" on the Intel Graphics Control Panel all that I can think of is that it may have been disabled by the computer manufacturer. Depending on the screen resolution you select then the Scaling options you will get.

At this point what I can recommend is checking with Gigabyte* if there is any other option to disable overscan in your computer. This link will give you their contact information http://www.gigabyte.us/Contact http://www.gigabyte.us/Contact
