Can't setup raid RST missing drive | HDD not detected

Hello,

I need to setup a RAID array on my computer, I have 4 HDD but Intel Rapid Storage Technology cannot detect more than 2 hard drive !

Exact same problem when I open the software on Windows 10.

All my drivers are update and I have format these drives several time.

Its really weird because Windows and Linux detect theses drives without any problem and I can use them.

I have also tried to plug the drive to others SATA ports and the problem is the same.

What can I do ?

Hi Thargarius: Thank you very much for joining the Intel® Rapid Storage Technology communities.

The board has 2 different SATA controllers, Intel® and Asmedia, normally they have different color and the Intel® RST application will not recognize the hard drives that are connected to Asmedia. Please make sure that you are connecting the hard drives on the SATA ports that are working under the Intel® SATA controller.

Any further questions, please let me know.

Regards,

Yes I'm sure because the Asmedia ports are not in the same place as the Intel, I have already check this out

Thargarius: Thank you very much for letting us know that information.

In this case the next thing to try will be a BIOS update to the latest version on the board, please get in contact with MSI first in order to get the instructions of how to do it and to confirm if this is a good option for this scenario:

https://us.msi.com/about/contact-us https://us.msi.com/about/contact-us

On the link below you will find the BIOS file needed for version 2.3 latest:

Let us know the results of trying that step.

Any questions, please let me know.

Thargarius: Thank you very much for providing those details.

In this case, the next thing to do now will be to get in contact with MSI directly, because at this point everything indicates that the RAID controller of the board is not working properly.

They should be able to provide further technical or warranty assistance.

Any questions, please let me know.

Regards,
