Can't enable 3d stereoscopic on w10

Hi!

After searching for an answer for several days I decided to post my problem here.

I have a lenovo Y50-70 laptop that comes with an intel hd grapics 4600 and the geforce GTX 860.

I also have an acer k330 dlp projector with some active shutter glasses.

I used to watch 3d movies and play 3d games with that projector with my desktop running an old discrete sapphire ati radeon without a problem using tridef and powerdvd.

But now, when I want to watch or play 3d content with my lenovo laptop I can't. Tridef is unable to engage 3d mode and in powerdvd when I click the 3d button I get the same error: fail to enable stereo 3d.

I am able to change my screen resolution to 1024x768 at 120hz but I can't see the button to turn the 3d stereoscopic on or off.

Is it possible with these hardware? What am I doing wrong?

Hello Fakupos,

I understand you are trying to play 3D content on your Lenovo* Y50-70 laptop.

Let me apologize for any inconvenience this issue may be causing to you.

In order to help you better I would like to gather more information about the configuration you have in the computer. Please attach to this thread the .txt file the Intel® System Support Utility will generate https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility

What type of video cable are you using between the computer and the projector?

I would like you to check the settings of the projector and make sure the 3D option is enabled.

To attach a file, you must click "Use Advanced Editor" on the upper right hand corner of the response box, then the "attach" option will appear on the bottom right hand corner of the response box.

Regards,

Thank you for your reply!

I attached the txt.

Here is an update: I managed to be able to watch 3d movies on the PotPlayer 64bit software https://potplayer.daum.net/ Global Potplayer meaning that the intel hd4600 and my hdmi cable works. But I still can't see the 3d stereoscopic button on the display settings, neither watch 3d movies on powerdvd 16 plus, nor use tridef software.

Hello Fred!

I already tried all that but still the same.

When I tried to install the graphic drivers it says that I already have a newer version so I can't actually install it.

I have another laptop with an onboard amd graphic card and I can see the 3d button in w10 display settings and also there is a 3d label on the resolution that my acer k330 projector supports (800x600 3D and 1024x768 3D).

Hello Fakupos,

I am sorry to hear issue persists.

If possible please provide a screenshot of the 3D stereoscopic button you are referring to.

Have you tried contacting Acer* in order to check if there is any other computer setting you might be missing?

Hi Fred!

I still have the same problem.

That picture I send to you is the print screen from another laptop using the same hdmi cables, yamaha receiver and acer k330 projector, but running on an amd radeon R5.

As you can see it detects the 3D resolutions that my projector supports and there is a button to enable or disable it. I can't see those with my lenovo y50-70.

With the lenovo I'm able to watch 3D movies perfectly with the PotPlayer but still can't do it with tridef or PowerDVD.

I didn't write to acer because it seems that there is nothing wrong with the projector. It sends the 120hz signal without a problem.

Regards,

Facundo

Hello Fakupos,

Since you are able to play 3D content on PotPlayer then the issue might not be the driver.

What version of PowerDVD are you using? According to Cyberlink's website 3D content is only possible with PowerDVD Ultra and PowerDVD Live https://www.cyberlink.com/products/powerdvd-ultra/compare-versions_en_US.html https://www.cyberlink.com/products/powerdvd-ultra/compare-versions_en_US.html

If possible please check recommended 3D settings Cyberlink* provides on this link under the Enabling 3D Playback section http://download.cyberlink.com/ftpdload/user_guide/powerdvd/17/17pdvd/PowerDVD_ENU.pdf http://download.cyberlink.com/ftpdload/user_guide/powerdvd/17/17pdvd/PowerDVD_ENU.pdf
