Processor Replacement

Hi, people)

I have my laptop with Intel® Core™ i3-2328M for 5 years. And now I want replace it with Intel® Core™ i5-3320M. I want to ask a specialist: can I do it?

Features of my laptop, if You need:

Lenovo G580

Intel® Core™ i3-2328M

RAM 8 GB

HDD 500 GB

NVIDIA GeForce 630M

In order for a processor to be used, it must be socket, board and BIOS compatible. It appears that there are versions of these processors that are socket compatible. As for the board, however, these processors are often soldered down and not replaceable. If it is socketed and replaceable, you next have to ask whether the BIOS will support both second and third generation processors. We cannot answer this question. To get a full and proper answer regarding board and BIOS compatibility, you need to ask the manufacturer (namely Lenovo).
