Intel HD 530 (i3 6100T) no full RGB range

Hello,

my Intel HD 530 does not translate full RGB range. I set RGB to full range, but nothing happens, my TV still shows limited RGB.

I tried to use discret video card istead of HD 530 - discret card shows both ranges fill and limited. So problem is not in my TV.

I use latest drivers. Hardware is following:

MB - Asus Z170A

CPU - i3 6100T

Video out: 1 pc monitor using display port and 1 tv using hdmi.

OS - Win7 64bit

Hello Denis .: We will be more than glad to assist you with this scenario.

In order to provide the most accurate support, we just wanted to verify a few details about your platform.

Please run the SSU utility:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility-for-Windows- https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility-for-Windows-

Also, please follow the instructions of the link below to get the graphics status:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005848/graphics-drivers.html https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005848/graphics-drivers.html

Once you run the SSU tool, you will be able to save a file on your computer, same thing with the graphics report, please attach both files to the thread by choosing the option that says "attach" that you will see once you select "reply".

Any questions, please let me know.

Regards,

@Stranger_200: You mentioned that you set the RGB feature to full range and nothing happens, how do you identify that the feature is enabled and working properly?

Also, you said that when using a discreet graphics card everything worked fine and you were able to set the RGB range to full, were you able to use that option before when using Intel® HD Graphics 530?

There is a newer BIOS version for the board available on ASUS's web page, it is version 3802, please get in contact with ASUS to get the instructions of how to do a BIOS update to that version:

https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z170-A/HelpDesk_BIOS/ https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z170-A/HelpDesk_BIOS/

We recommend to install the graphics driver provided by the manufacturer of the board, that driver was customized by ASUS to work with your specific platform, the latest version is 21.20.16.4508:

https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z170-A/HelpDesk_Download/ https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z170-A/HelpDesk_Download/

https://www.asus.com/support/ Official Support | ASUS Global

If the problem persists then we can try to test the Intel generic graphics driver version 15.40.38.4963:

Additionally, on the link below you will see further details about and limitations about the feature:

Any questions, please let me know.

To identify problem I changed RGB setting on PC and checking it on my TV set. TV has three options for RGB: auto, full and limited. After I set intel 530 on full range, I check TV set settings for diffenece: first check is between AUTO and FULL range options and second is between AUTO and LIMITED options. If TV set blinks between AUTO and FULL range and does not blink between AUTO and LIMITED thеn it means that TV set shows LIMITED range. In case of FULL range coming from PC my TV set will blink between AUTO and LIMITED, because AUTO will set TV to FULL range (which is received from PC) while LIMITED option will force to use limited range and this will cause TV set to blink between these two options.

To avoid misunderstanding about discreet graphics - when I pluged discreet card in PC I conneted my TV set and PC to these card and switched of HD 530 in BIOS. After that I made the same procedure of checking as I wrote above, but with success - no blinks between AUTO and FULL range.

I did update bios right after I made those files you asked, but no succes on RGB. New bios is about support 7-th generation of i-cores.

I'll try those drivers you offerd and write back on result.

One more thing to add - TV set is connected by HDMI cable, and PC monitor is connected through display port adapter to HDMI cable.

So, I tried both drivers you gave.

First I installed Asus drivers and they worked! )))

Then I uninstall Asus drivers and tried to instal Intel driver that you gave me - it failed to install as it does not support 6 generation of intel CPU

Then I tried to install latest Intel video drivers which were installed before - 21.20.16.4860 and now they worked.

I don't understand why, but now they worked. So I saved both drivers versions, just in case...
