AC7260 linux AC support?

I'm a happy new owner of a Lenovo Yoga 2 13 ultrabook. I am connecting to an Asus RT-AC66R and I am running Arch(x86_64) linux on it, currently dual booted with win 8.1, though I intend to remove win soon. It is obvious that AC is working in windows as it should as files coming from my NAS move much faster.. However everything in linux points to it not utilizing AC. Is there really not AC support in linux for these adapters or am I missing something? I find it quite absurd for it not to work at this point. Being that I am on Arch I am pretty up to date and I have even tried the experimental firmware (iwlwifi-7260-9.ucode) committed on 2014-07-27 to the Core6 branch below. So what gives?
