Intel 8260 support of 802.11k - issue

Having an issue with 802.11k roaming, was wondering if there is a setting or something that we need to do to enable this. We are using Panasonic FZ-M1 tablets with the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website. Attached is the support file from the client with the adapter. The WLAN is using Open WPA2 authentication. Each time it roams the connection is fully dropped and reauthenticated and not showing any improvement over not enabling 802.11k on the AP.

Hello tcowdrey,

 

 

For 802.11k support, you simply need to be in Windows® 10 and use the latest drivers. There is no additional configuration required on our side, but it does need to be supported by the AP.

 

 

You're currently using an older version of the Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers. We can recommend updating to the latest release (20.40.0) as there have been some roaming fixes implemented.

We can also see that you have wireless mode locked to 802.11a, which does limit your adapter to 5 GHz band only, but it also limits your connection rate to 54 Gbps.

 

 

For 802.11ac connectivity, we recommend keeping the default Wireless Mode setting.
