Hello rock-huang,

We understand that you're being given the option to eject your Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 in the Safely Remove Hardware tray icon.

In order to investigate, we would like the following information:

1. Is this a factory installed wireless adapter, or an upgrade part?

2. Did this happen after updating to the latest drivers, or making changes to your system?

3. If you choose to eject the adapter, does it become disabled or stop being detected in Device Manager?

4. Are you experiencing any additional issues?

5. Please share a report generated using the Intel® System Support Utility.

1. Download the latest https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293 Intel® SSU

2. While connected to your WiFi network, run the scan for "everything."

3. Save and name the report.

We look forward to hearing back from you.

Best regards,

Carlos A.

Hello rock-huang,

Your wireless adapter should not be accessible through the "Devices and Printers" menu. You're also missing some tabs in the Device Manager adapter properties window (right).

Safe removal required should be "" by default.

- Are you using the drivers provided in our previous response?

- Is this an originally installed using your M.2 slot, or are you using a PCIe or USB adapter to install it in your computer?

Best regards,

Carlos A.

Hello rock-huang,

If you're using an USB adapter, this is expected and cannot be changed. If using USB adapter, your system will recognize this as an USB device, which would explain why you can see those safe removal options.

If your wireless adapter is connected directly to your motherboard using an M.2 slot, then you may need to reinstall your operating system:
