Hi, I have an Acer Extensa 2540, with Intel HD Graphics 620, CPU i5-7200U and windows 10. I have gone on Intel official site and downloaded latest driver for my graphcs card, but when I use the setup or the .exe, it appears a message like 'the driver is not compatible with your pc'. So, I downloaded other drivers, but I have the same problems. Any solutions?

Soluzioni?

Hi Giagobox1: Thank you very much for contacting the Intel® communities. We will do our best to assist you with this matter.

Just to let you know, we always recommend to install the graphics drivers provided by the manufacturer of the notebook, that driver was customized by them to work with that specific platform, please look for VGA driver 4526:

https://www.acer.com/ac/en/ID/content/support-product/7028;- https://www.acer.com/ac/en/ID/content/support-product/7028;-;

Since the unit supports Intel® HD Graphics 620, we can nstall driver 4877:

And if you still get the same error message then we can try to install it manually:

Any further questions, please let me know.

Sorry, but I've been very busy during this time. When I asked myquestion I forgot to write about the reason why I was changing driver: when I use games (light) after a while 'time my PC crashes and sometimes appears bsod:' whea uncorreactable error '. At the begin I used the tool 'BlueScreenViev' and it said me that crash started from ntoskrnl.exe categorized like video driver problem. I asked to Microsoft forum https://answers.microsoft.com/it-it/windows/forum/windows_10-performance/extensa-2540-freeze-e-bsod/11d44110-db5b-408f-95b5-ca087ae48a53?tm=1512844789432 Extensa 2540 Freeze e BSOD - Microsoft Community , I did it but the problem PERSISTS only playing games and . In this moment I thought about a possible solution, the computer starts with 4 GB and I have added 4 more before using it, it is possible that the RAM is not compatible and that my PC crashes while I play just because only in that moment I start to use that bank of RAM?

Giagobox1: No problem at all. Thank you for providing those details. In regard to your question, yes, the issue could be related to the memory RAM, but in that case what we recommend is to get in contact directly with the manufacturer of the device, in this case Acer, so they can provide further technical or warranty suggestions on this specific subject:

https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support

Just in case, on the link below you will see the memory RAM that is fully compatible with the processor, but since Acer build the computer, it is always better to check with them:

Any questions, please let me know.

Hi, I asked my question here: https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/535979/extensa-2540-freeze-bsod/p1?new=1 Extensa 2540 FREEZE/BSOD — Acer Community but none responded me. However I tried the Ram individually and they work and I have no problems, now I'm using only one bank of RAM (the original). I will post a CPU_Z report with the underlined information of my RAMs. They have different frequencies, it can cause the problem?

Hi Giagobox1: Thank you very much for providing that information and the file. It is hard to tell for sure if the fact that the RAM sticks have different frequencies to be the source of the problem, in this case the best thing to do will be to wait for Acer's response since they build it and install the memory RAM modules on the unit.

Any questions, please let me know.

Hi again, I tried the RAM individually and did not change much, with the original module crashes a little 'less but always and anyway. Acer has not yet answered me and I honestly don't know what to do. I went into the event viewer and the block corresponds to the Kernel-Power 41 event, I don't know if it is a important information. Can I retry to update video driver, what do you think? Thanks for your time.
