How can I get my Intel 630 graphics to display 2560x1600 60 hz. resolution under HDMI

I am connecting a new Intel based ASUS Z270 chip based motherboard to an older Dell 3008WTF 30" Monitor using HDMI under Windows 10 64 Bit Pro. The highest display resolution offered is 1920x1200 but the monitor's native resolution is 2560x1600.

How do I get this resolution to appear in the list under the screen graphics options? I have already downloaded the Intel Display Driver Management software and added custom modes but with no noticeable changes.

I read the 630 can support 4K resolutions so it should support this option too. Also, what is the highest refresh rate it can support at 2560x1600?

"WTF" gives no results at http://pilot.search.dell.com/wtf Dell Search for some reason, instead you find:

The HDMI port on the 3008WFP display is HDMI 1.1 which has a maximum display resolution of 1920 x 1080.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply. I have ordered a DisplayPort cable to access the 2560x1600 resolution.

However, in the meantime, I had created and applied a 2560x1600 mode in the custom resolution area of the driver and applied it. The screen went black and notified me to change back to 1920x1200 as you noted above.

But it never reverted to the previous good setting or gave me a chance to escape out so I am locked in the black screen. The message appears to be from the Dell Monitor, not the Intel Graphics card.

When I reboot I see everything through the POST and BIOS messages but before login the screen goes black again.

How can I reset the driver to a 1920x1200 mode (or any other readable resolution) again if I have no screen to do it on anymore?
