Hi,
I am having trouble while installing librealsense from the source.
Since running the uvcvideo patch script from librealsense v1.12.1 only supports upto kernel 4.4,
https://github.com/IntelRealSense/librealsense/blob/v1.12.1/doc/installation.md librealsense/installation.md at v1.12.1 · IntelRealSense/librealsense · GitHub
I tried running the script with librealsense master, which supports kernel 4.8 and 4.10.
https://github.com/IntelRealSense/librealsense/blob/master/doc/installation.md librealsense/installation.md at master · IntelRealSense/librealsense · GitHub
However, when I run pointcloud tutorial code after installing librealsense, data seems unstable.
The point cloud captured with ZR300 looks very scattered and does not capture faraway scene very well.
I attached the screen capture file below.
Is this because the script file in master is for SR300 and D400 series?
I wonder how anyone else solved this problem.
thanx.

Hello daeun,
Thank you for contacting Intel Intel® RealSense™ Technology support.
The latest version of librealsense was designed to be used with the Intel Intel® RealSense™SR300 and with the new Intel Intel® RealSense™D400 series.
That being said you need to must use the legacy librealsense branch for ZR300 support that is available at the following link:
https://github.com/IntelRealSense/librealsense/tree/legacy
I hope you find this information useful.
Please do not hesitate to contact us again if you need further assistance.
Best regards.

Hi Josh, thank you for the reply.
YES, I did build and installed the librealsens library v1.12.1, which is provided for ZR300, same with your link.
And I only copied and pasted the scripts from the lastest version. The reason I ran the scripts from the lastest version is because the scripts of librealsense v1.12.1 seem to not support Ubuntu kernel 4.10.
So, the question is "Does librealsense v1.12.1 supports kernel 4.10 in applying patches to kernel modules?" or "Is there any other way to apply patches to kernel modules for librealsense v1.12.1?".
Thanx

Hello Daeun,
What platform are you connecting the ZR300 to? Let me remind you the ZR300 has only been validated on the Joule board. Additionally there is no need to install the kernel patch if you are using the official Ubuntu image for Joule(https://developer.ubuntu.com/core/get-started/intel-joule https://developer.ubuntu.com/core/get-started/intel-joule).
Please connect the ZR300 to the Joule board and record and provide the output for "dmesg -wT".
Best Regards,
Juan N.
