Dedicate Video Memory Bios - What's The Point

Hi,

There is an option in bios to increase dedicated video memory to 1gb max.

I know that the intel gpu dynamically adjusts video memory based on need.

So why is there an option in bios to set a fixed amount of video memory?

Thanks

Hello MartyJones,

Thank you for contacting Intel Communities.

In this case, the answer will depend on the applications that you will run in the system, as some of them won't be able to run with the BIOS default settings, then, you are allowed to modify the max amount of dedicated memory (up to 1GB).

You can check the following thread for further information:

Hope this information helps.

Hello sakshi_1008,

In this case, I recommend you to contact the system manufacturer in case you have an OEM system, if you built your computer, then contacting the motherboard's manufacturer, this because all BIOS are different and system configurations differ from a system to another.
