Improving default Realsense D430 depth accuracy

The Quality tool in SDK2.0 shows that the depth accuracy for the D430 beyond 3 or 4 meters is as low as plus or minus 0.5 meters from the true distance. Switching from default, custom to high accuracy preset improves the accuracy of very little.

Is there a practice, approach, or recipe to use the sensor presets, configuration or other in order to improve the depth accuracy, especially in the 3 to 5 meters range?

A discussion on depth accuracy in the past week suggests that using a high depth resolution will reduce error when scanning at distance.
