Having two optane modules, can I use one as boost for windows and the other one as storage for another OS?

I understand only one Optane module can be used for system acceleration, and attached to one SATA drive. My question is, would I be able to use the second module as a regular SSD, for the boot and system partitions of a Linux distribution? That way I would effectively boosted both OSs in my system.

Thanks?

Hello RafaelGCPP.

Thank you for contacting Intel Technical Support.

Please refer to the https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000024018/memory-and-storage/intel-optane-memory.html Frequently Asked Questions for Intel® Optane™ Memory that includes the following information that we advise you to take into consideration.

•Is Linux* supported when using Intel® Optane™ memory for system acceleration?

-No, the accelerated SATA drive must be running Windows 10 64-bit.

•Can I use the Intel® Optane™ memory module as a standalone boot or data drive instead of system acceleration?

-You may use Intel® Optane™ memory as a standalone NVMe* SSD. However, we don't support this configuration.

If you need further assistance please do not hesitate to contact us.

We will be looking forward to your reply.

Sorry for the late answer.

I'll try using Optane just for Windows 10 acceleration then, and buy a regular SSD for the boot and system partitions on Linux...
