Weird colors when activating YCbCr

Hello everybody,

I own a Dell Inspiron 17 with Intel HD Graphics 4400 and the notebook is connected to a Samsung monitor via HDMI 1080p@60Hz. Everything was fine until I my Intel graphics card got an update a few weeks ago. Then my screen colors turned totally weird as you can see on my attached image. After trying a bit, I could see my colors go back to normal when I deactivate YCbCr. But then they colors look very pale.. so I uninstalled the graphics driver and the colors were normal again. But thanks to Windows 10, I can't disable autoupdate and 15 minutes later I have this issue all over again. Does anyone know how to solve this issue?

Hello dimitriii:

Thank you very much for joining the Intel® graphics communities.

In order to try to fix this problem we recommend to use the graphics drivers provided by the manufacturer, in this case Dell, in there you can choose the operating system, please look for the video files:

http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-support/product/inspiron-17-n7010/drivers http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-support/product/inspiron-17-n7010/drivers

Not sure if the model of the laptop on the previous link is the one you are using, but it says that it fully supports Windows® 7 or Vista, so the problem with the colors could be related to that, since the graphics driver needed will not be available.

Another thing to try will be a BIOS update to the latest version, please check with Dell directly about this option so they can provide all the details about how to do that.

Also, just in case, depending on the Windows version you are using, on the following link you will find the latest version of the graphics drivers for Intel® HD Graphics 4400:

Driver 4578:

Uninstalling the driver and installing the version in your link (Driver 4501) solved the issue. In addition to this I used the guide to disable the autoupdate - just in case ..!

Thank you Alberto!
