Win10: Intel Driver & Support Assistant not recognizing Intel driver?

Hi all!

Since my last update of the Intel® Iris® Plus Graphics 640 driver via Driver & Support Assistant on my Intel NUC system it doesn't recognized it as a standard Intel driver. Please see the attached file with a screenshot.

Hence it will no longer update it. What seems to be the problem?

Hello Antony.

Uninstalled the current version and installed the latest (3.4.0.4) version. Same outcome. Graphics driver still regarded as "A customized computer manufacturer driver is installed on your computer".

Thank you very much for the information provided, matsovef.

By checking your system report, I can see that your BIOS is outdated, please update it to the latest version (0064). Click https://downloadmirror.intel.com/27843/eng/BN0064.bio here to download the .bio file and, to complete the installation, please follow this guide: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005850/mini-pcs.html https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005850/mini-pcs.html

Also, can you please specify the model of your system?

Hi

I've updated to latest BIOS version (0064). Still it list my graphic driver as customized.

I downloaded the following driver: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27847/Graphics-Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10?product=97503 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27847/Graphics-Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10?product=97503. However, when I run the installer I get

Error Message: Computer Manufacturer Graphics Driver Detected

The model of my system is Intel NUC7i5BNH.

I wonder if the following driver update from Microsoft can be causing the problem: Microsoft - HIDClass - 5/14/2018 12:00:00 AM - 3.3.207.0

It was installed on 6/2/2018.

Hi

If I've selected the correct download link for my system (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27847/Graphics-Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10%3Fproduct%3D97503 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27847/Graphics-Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10?product=97503) I guess I can do a manuall upgrade using the Device Manager and the downloaded ZIP-file. It would be nice to apply since it contains fixes related to display devices on Thunderbolt (which I have).

However, I would be good how Intel's utility decides whether there is a standard driver or a customized driver. Windows Registry could be corrupt (regarding driver information) on my system.

Hello, matsovef.

After you manually installed the 6136 drivers; are you having the same issue in the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant?

Hello Antony!

After manually upgrading the display driver it's now recognize it as an Intel driver by Intel® Driver & Support Assistant (i.e. no longer a customized display driver). It was as simple as that to get the Assistant back on line.

I am having the same issue with NUC7i5BNH but on downloading the 6136 drivers, I can't install them, it tells me the file is not compatible with my operating system (windows 10). Any clues?

I can't install bios 64 or 65 as there is no windows .exe available and I'm using a bluetooth keyboard so can't install the BIOS from USB.

As I remember after unzipping the downloaded file and using the Device Manager to upgrade the driver via Have disk you must select the installation file in the Graphics subfolder. Using the installation file in the root folder also gave me that it's not compatible with Windows 10. You will know that you have selected the correct installation folder when it only list the Intel Graphics card as supported device.

When it comes to upgrading Bios it worked fine for me althought I've an USB keyboard and mice. I put the BIos file on a USB flash drive and when the Intel system was booting I could hit F7 to enter Bios upgrade. Actually when entering BIOS settings the mice works as well for clicking and selecting Bios entries.

Thanks for the tip! I did hte same manual installation and it did install! It also shows up under the driver and support tool now. Many thanks!

My problem with the bios update is that bluetooth doesn't start until windows loads, so I can't do the f7 approach. Shall have to wait until intel release an exe version I guess.
