RST version 14.8.12.1059 stopped working after a Win10 reset, saving files on an HP Z800. I cannot find a replacement download. The original operating system was Win7, does a replacement RST version exist, if so where can I download it.

Hello RedDog:

Thank you very much for joining the Intel® Rapid Storage Technology communities.

To answer your question, on the following link you will find the Intel® RST version 15.2 for Windows® 10:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26361/Intel-Rapid-Storage-Technology-Intel-RST-RAID-Driver?product=55005 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26361/Intel-Rapid-Storage-Technology-Intel-RST-RAID-Driver?product=55005

Now, I was checking the specifications of your PC, and it says that it supports Windows® Vista and XP, so there might be a compatibility problem when using Windows® 10, on the following link you will be able to confirm that information:

http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docLocale=en_US&docId=emr_na-c01709724 http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docLocale=en_US&docId=emr_na-c01709724

And just in case on the link below you will see all the versions available for Intel® RST:

Any further questions, please let me know.

Alberto, thank you for your thorough answer and the time you spent researching my situation. I have been using Win 10 for about ten months without an issue with either the system or RST. When the machine was sold Win 10 was being developed. I have two other machines another Win7 and WinXP both converted to Win10 (really impacted startup and overall performance negatively), but they work.

HP does not list the driver version on this machine. The HP site has earlier and later versions but does not list the indicated version.

Before proceeding with a fix, I am going to set up an off-site back up in addition to my in-house back up. Once I am comfortable with that, I will continue to see if I can restore operation of my Raid 10.

Any tips would be appreciated.

Hello RedDog:

Thank you very much for sharing that information.

Perfect, yes, it is always better to have a back up of all the important information before trying to do any heavy changes on the system.

I understand you mentioned that the PC was working fine with Intel® RST version 14.8 with Windows® 10, but according to the information we have in our web site and the one on HP's site, the PC is not compatible with none of them.

I did further research on this case, and just to let you know, the chipset on the PC you are using is the Intel® 5520, that chipset is a 5 series chipset, on the following link you will be able to confirm that the Intel® RST version 14.8 supports 7, 8 and 9 series chipsets, please check where it says "overview":

https://downloadmirror.intel.com/25165/eng/F6flpy_ReadMe.txt https://downloadmirror.intel.com/25165/eng/F6flpy_ReadMe.txt

But we have a version of Intel® RST that supports 5 series chipsets, you will find it on the link below, it is version 12.9.0.1001:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/23496/Intel-Rapid-Storage-Technology-Intel-RST-RAID-Driver https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/23496/Intel-Rapid-Storage-Technology-Intel-RST-RAID-Driver

Here you have the "read me" notes for it:

https://downloadmirror.intel.com/23496/eng/readme.txt https://downloadmirror.intel.com/23496/eng/readme.txt

So, as an option you can try to install that version in order to confirm if it works with your PC.

Please let me know the results of installing it and also of using the restore operation of your RAID.

Any questions, please let me know.

Regards
