there are two systems

on e3-1225v2 and 2xE5-2648L

on both win 7 x64

On system 2xE5-2648L RAM disk speed 3gb\s 4ch RAM pc-8500

On system e3-1225v2 RAM disk speed 8gb\s 2ch pc12800 RAM

(asus RAM disk software )

board S2600GL

cpu 2xE5-2648L

RAM 32gb pc-8500 reg 8pcs, 4 on cpu.

It was also tested on the desktop version of the memory. pc12800

the results were + 10%

Where are the declared speeds?

There is no string with RAM speed rate

but...

it may be that it is less than that of the processor e3-1225v2 (25gb\s)

I think the speed should be at least equal, but as a maximum of two higher (8ch for this board)

Hi izhadapter,

I understand you are getting low performance while using the Intel® Server Board S2600GL and 2 x e5-2648L v2.

I noted you are using memories of DDR3 of 1066MHz and you tested them at 800MHz. It means the processor will be running and transferring info to the memories at the lowest speed possible. These processors support up to DDR3 1866MHz.

Under this scenario is very hard to compare both systems.

Additionally, the purpose of the Intel® Xeon® Processor e5-2648L v2 (10 Cores / 20 Threads ) is intended for Communications while the e3-1225v2 (4 Cores / 4 Threads) is intended for PC/Client/Tablet.

The advantage of the e5 is the capability to perform or running more jobs at the same time.

I hope my explanation clarifies your concern.

OK

where the increase in the performance of 4-channel mode ?

I do not see even a 10% increase

Hi izhadapter,

The advantage of more memory channels will be seen when you are working with many applications (jobs) at the same time. The memory will be shared by the 10 Cores / 20 Threads. The Intel® Xeon® Processor E5-2648L v2 is intended for networking purposes, the base speed is 1.90GHz per Core.

I am adding a comparison chart between the Intel® Xeon® Processor E5-2648L v2 and Intel® Xeon® Processor E3-1225 v2.
