Why does Windows 10 limit my monitor resolution to 1080

Hi,

I have the following setup but am unable to set set my display resolution to anything above 1080 when using Windows. I believe the issue is caused by limitations with the CPU as it states that HDMI only supports up to 1080.

My only issue with this is my computer is dual boot, and why I boot into Ubuntu with exactly the same setup, I can select 2560 x 1440 without any issues. So why does Windows not offer this?

I understand that you have been facing issues in order to set up a specific resolution in Microsoft* Windows*, let me help you out with this.

I could see that your current driver version that you have installed is the latest one. Moreover, I would like to suggest you test in Microsoft* Windows* a different driver version.

I was doing some research on this issue on my end I found that if you proceed with a Custom Resolutions you might have the chance to set up the resolution that you would like in windows* manually. Also, I would like to share with you an article is not from Intel moreover it has some important steps in order to set up properly a Custom Resolution in your system. I've added custom resolutions but when I select one the screen goes black and I get a message stating input not supported.

Could you please provide me in which specific resolutions did you receive the error? it happens with all the custom resolutions or just with a specific one?When you tried to set up the customer resolution; which option did you select in Timing Standard? Also, in the refresh rate which one did you choose?Could you please set up the resolution in this way just to test?
