8265 verry slow on copy files on LAN, especially on upload

Hi,

recently purchased a lenovo T580, with 8265 wifi card

i received the laptop, and updated the preinstalled windows to 10 to build 1803, i already noticed that i had slow copy speeds on my wifi network at home or at work, tried several routers/locations

on 2.4 i am connected at around 144Mbs , so i should have stable internal copy speeds at about 10MB/sec, while i only get 2-5 MB from laptop to synology

on 5ghz, connected at aroud 600Mbs , i get around 1 MB/sec only from laptop to synology

but this is only on the upload site, when i copy a file from the synology to my laptop, on 2.4 i get 10MB/sec, on 5ghz, i get 30MB/sec

tested on my girlfiends laptop, its a HP elite book, also with 8265 card, i get the speed that i want, like 40-50 MB/sec on 5 GHZ and 11 MB/sec on 2.4 on both directions, the laptop is just next to me

i have googled tried a lots of stuff

clean installed windows 10 today directly to 1803 build, when it was clean installed, with drivers from windows itself, same issue

then tried downloading latest proset intel driver , same issue, uninstalled and installed the intel driver from lenovo site, same thing

in advanced settings, i have configured roaming aggresivenes to lowest, same issue

tried 20-40 band, other channels, i always have the same issue on my lenovo, while the HP is in every way working as expected

any help please? i am out of ideas

Hello pergola.fabio,

Thanks for posting. We understand that you're experiencing slow uploads to your local Synology* server over Wi-Fi.

Have you confirmed if you get similar results uploading files outside the Synology* configuration? As for troubleshooting, please change the adapter advanced setting "Channel Width for 2.4GHz" from Auto to 20 MHz only, that might help while connected to the 2.4Ghz band.

On Synology Router Manger*, please try the recommendations found on their KB site:

Hello pergola.fabio,

Thanks for your reply.

You've already tried all the recommended troubleshooting, including reinstalling the operating system. At this point, we recommend to https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/topics/oems.html contact your system manufacturer in order to check its hardware.

Best regards,

update, today a lenovo techician came around, replaced wifi card, antennas, motherboard, still the same issue, even replaced other models wifi cards , like 8260 and 33xx

to exclude windows, he booted up ubuntu , still same issue

the wifi speed 5.0 or 2.4 ghz, is way to low, when connected to 300 mbit, when we copy files FROM laptop TO network , the max speed is like 10 MB / sec

when we do the same test FROM network TO laptop, the speed is more like 20-25 MB, still not the expected speed, but better

did the test with other Lenovo models, no issue, on that same network

so a bug in the T580 series? intel - lenovo ?

Hello pergola.fabio,

Thanks for your update on this scenario, since as of now, we haven't had any reports recently of issues with upload with this wireless adapter, the issue may be related more to the Lenovo* laptop model especially since hardware has been replaced on it and the issue persists. At this point we would recommend checking further support with Lenovo* to see if this is a known situation with this model of notebook. Additionally as a reminder, make sure you have power and advanced adapter settings similar to the articles below:
