Is worthy changing DVMT pre-allocated?

I know that DVMT are a feature in Intel chipsets that allocated vram when it's necessary, but in bios says that I can change the DVMT pre-allocated up to 1024MB (by deafault it was 64MB). Ok, I changed just for testing, the dedicated vram in properties showed 1024MB, and the games performance got worst! I changed to default and got better. The question is: I can pre-allocated down to 32MB, if I do so, will my graphic performance get better than is in 64MB?

When I buyed my PC, the site said that vram was up to 1GB, but when I checked my pc said that has 32MB of dedicated video, then I searched about DVTM and learned about it. I want to change mainly because the games that tecnically my pc can run easily (lower than 1GB of vram), poorly runs if I don't put the graphics and resolution in low.

Hello henriquevpp,

Thank you for contact the Intel Technical Support.

In regards to your question about the DVTM, you can change the setting in BIOS or in the Operating System.

I will like to know more information about your PC.

Could you run the Intel® System Support Utility for Windows and share the results (attach the logs).

Thanks! Ok, I'll paste the log in the post. And I know that I can change in BIOS. When I put the pre-allocated in low a set of memory (by default 64MB), my performance it's better than when I put in a higher set of memory (like 1024MB), I want to know if I put the set of memory in 32MB (lower than 64), my performance will get better.

Hello henriquevvp,

Thanks for your reply.

About Dynamic video memory technology (DVMT):
  • The system manufacturer sets amount of pre-allocated memory via the system BIOS. Depending on the system BIOS implementation, the amount may or may not be configurable.
  • Dynamically allocates and de-allocates the optimum amount of memory for balanced 2D, 3D graphics, and system performance.
  • Returns the memory to the operating system when no longer required. For example, the OS views the Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator Driver (Intel® GMA Driver) as an application.
  • DVMT aligns with the design guidelines for Microsoft drivers. It dynamically uses only the system memory needed and returns these resources to the operating system when finished. Some integrated graphics solutions permanently dedicate large amounts of memory. Dedicated memory ends up wasted.
