Windows 10 LTSB - Graphics Driver Update issues

I have 95 computers in my environment with Windows 10 LTSB 2015 (10240). Our vulnerability scanning software has found a vulnerability per the Intel advisory INTEL-SA-00095 that requires me to update these PC's to the latest graphics driver version. These computers represent around 5 or so models with different Intel chipsets. I have tried on multiple separate models to upgrade the graphics driver and they all blue screen. Has Intel stopped graphics driver support for Windows 10 LTSB?

Here is one example. The model is a Dell Latitude E7470. The driver that was downloaded was from here: https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/drivers/driversdetails?driverId=VVW29 Intel HD Graphics 500 P500 600 P600 series Driver | Dell US

The Bug Check code from the event viewer is: The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000113 (0x000000000000001f, 0xffffe0008cb24530, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000).

This is just one example. I have received the same BSOD on other Dell and non Dell models as well.

OS is Windows 10 LTSB, 10240.17889

Another example is trying to update the graphics driver on an Intel NUC6i7KYK with the i7-6770HQ processor and Intel Iris Pro 580 graphics. When I attempt to install the update it says that is not compatible with the processor type. The link I used is here: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27847/Graphics-Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10?product=88357 Download Intel® Graphics Driver for Windows® 10

However if I use device manager to check for the graphics driver it does find and download the update through Windows, but then BSOD with the same stop code I posted earlier.

The SA-0095 is an Intel bulletin located here: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/security-center/advisory/intel-sa-00095.html INTEL-SA-00095

Hello

Thank you for your response.

Allow me to share with you that newer version of HD graphics supports six generation processors and Windows® build RS1 or newer, for example, the Intel® Iris™ Pro Graphics 580 on your Intel® NUC Kit NUC6i7KYK on the download for the graphics driver version 24.20.100.6136 has the following information on the readme notes:

Operating System(s):

Microsoft Windows* 10-64 - Creators Update

Microsoft Windows* 10-64 - Fall Creators Update

Microsoft Windows* 10-64 - April 2018 Update

Platforms:

6th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) processor family (codename Skylake)

7th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) processor family (codename Kaby Lake)

8th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) processor family (codenames Kaby Lake R, Coffee Lake)

Apollo Lake

Gemini Lake

In this case, I would recommend contacting Microsoft support for Windows® 10 LTBS to provide you with more assistance on driver availability.

With Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB set to receive support until 2025, does Intel have any plans to provide driver updates for this OS or are they abandoning driver updates altogether?

Hello capullman1

Thank you for your response.

Looking into Windows® 10 LTBS built I am noticing that this particular build would only allow security updated on the system, in this case, I would recommend contacting Microsoft to verify future update releases or diver packages for the specific system build that you have installed.

In reference of the future releases of drivers as mentioned previously the newer drivers are comparable with Windows® 10 RS1 or newer.

Regards,

Leonardo C.
