Will Intel create a camera the can sense longer distances? Currently the 435 was built to sense 10 feet (3 meters) . How about 50 or 100 meters? This would make the device far more useful.

Working on object detection and recognition for industrial applications.

The actual region of interest is broad and far away. Even at 10 mph your moving at 14.67 feet/second. So seeing further away is imperative.

The 400 Series cameras have a depth sensing range of 10 meters. 3 meters is the point where depth error starts to noticably increase due to 'RMS error' (depth noise) increasing over distance..

The distance that the camera can see can be changed by altering its Depth Units value.

It sounds as though your application is one where movement is involved. In industrial applications where the camera can be relatively static, the camera can also be extended up to 100 m from the computer using industrial-grade fiber optic cabling and equipment. The company Newnex can supply this equipment for 400 Series cameras.
