My laptop's screen is configured to turn off after X minutes when no activity (a power setting). However, after the screen does turn off, it refuses to turn back on. Laptop is still on, indicator lights are on, I can hear the fan. Doesn't respond to touchpad, keyboard, or power button. Requires a hard power off.
Intel HD 520 graphics. The driver version is 25.20.100.6577, latest as of this writing. Windows 10. The laptop itself is Acer E5-574-597Q.
When I uninstall the Intel graphics driver and go back to the Microsoft basic display adapter driver, the issue goes away so I am almost 100% sure it is due to Intel's driver.

You have a laptop. You should only be running the drivers provided by your laptop vendor. Support issues are the sole responsibility of your laptop vendor.
