Hi everyone,
In the news today was a technology called 'roboat', self-driving boats that can autonomously navigate and assemble themselves into different structures such as stages or bridges.

Though their primary means of perception and localization is time-of-flight lidar cameras on top of the boat, a technical paper about the boats adds that "the robotic boats integrate a skirt of Intel RealSense cameras to detect tags in the docks and on other roboats for position estimation and identification".

Lidar and RealSense depth sensing have also been combined in the past in a retail robot called Tally that could navigate store aisles whilst scanning the stock on the shelves.
