The german IT magazine golem.de published an article today titled: 'Intel discontinues Movidius Neural Compute Stick'. As confirmation the cite this product change notification.
Full translation of the first two paragraphs:
After two months already unavailable: The Movidius Neural Compute Stick will only be delivered until the end of September 2017. Reason for this is the myriad chip.
Intel no longer sells the Movidius Neural Compute Stick. This is confirmed by a product change notification from the manufacturer. The USB stick for Deep Learning and inferencing can only be ordered until September 30,2017. This is the last day on which Intel wants to send the Movidius Neural Compute Sticks. The stick was introduced at the end of July 2017 and is an optimized version of the Fathom Neural Compute Stick.
Can someone from Intel comment on that?
