We are having a 5 hour NCS Workshop at Pumping Station:One hackerspace in Chicago on Sunday Dec 17th at Noon:
https://www.meetup.com/Chicago-Area-Embedded-Deep-Learning/events/245282347/
The topic is computer vision with the RPi, Movidius NCS, TensorFlow, OpenCV, etc. Nothing formal or structured here. Just a group bunch of people helping each other out, working on different CV projects, or just trying to get started.
Bring your Linux Laptop and RPi’s if you have them. We will have extra Raspberry Pi’s & Compute Sticks to work with.
Also a group in Ann Arbor, MI is doing a meetup Jan 10th:

Do you mind if a complete newbie showed up to the one in Chicago?

I think most will people feel like a newbie, as the workshop topic is fusion of skills from many different domains. Heck, computer vision alone is frustrating because there are so many specialized domains. I find it interesting that there are 3-4 bioscience people coming. (I think this is because the word “neural” is in the meetup title.)
