How do I prevent a BSOD when trying to watch video in Chrome? Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000

Hello,

When I attempt to watch a video on a news site on Chrome, my computer has a BSOD.

I have tried uninstalling the Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000 driver from the device manager making sure to tick the uninstall driver software box. Then I let the computer automatically reinstall the driver after rebooting. This didn't work. I then tried uninstalling the driver again and reinstalling the one directly from Intel's website. This initially appeared to work but ultimately did not fix the issue. I also tried reinstalling Chrome and rebooting to no avail.

The debug information I pulled from the mini dump can be found here: https://pastebin.com/KjQWvd1x and https://pastebin.com/AFrLwfwF

The minidump file can be found here: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AhUC42vENWzSpS-wgbjFKCM6IKMn?e=dPpZ1E

The news site video that causes the crash: https://abc7ny.com/pets-animals/video-shows-dog-scaring-off-backyard-bear-in-new-jersey/5387530/

Any suggestions on how to resolve this are very appreciated.

Hello PastClock

Thank you for posting in the Intel Community.

·        What is the BSOD stop code? Can you provide me with a picture of it?

·        What is the brand and model of your system?

·        Do you have the BSOD while using the system on any other task?

·        What driver version have you tested?

·        Do you have all the driver and BIOS updates provided by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) installed on the system?

·        Please attach to this thread the TXT file the Intel® System Support Utility will generate: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility

·        Steps to save the report:

1-   Run the utility.

2-   Click on “Scan” to get the scanned system.

3-   Once the scan is complete click on “next”.

4-   Use the “save” option, save the report to your desktop.

5-   To attach a file, you must click the “Attach” option on the bottom left-hand corner of the response box.

Hello Leonardo,

  • The BSOD stop code is Page Fault In Nonpaged Area, the minidump file is included above.
  • It is a Dell Latitude E6430 laptop
  • I haven't found what else might cause this issue
  • The driver is the latest version 10.18.10.5069, installed directly from Intel's site.
  • I have all driver and BIOS updates. Additionally Windows and Chrome are up to date.
  • The txt has been attached.

The issue has been resolved. It was Windows Memory Integrity in Windows Defender causing the BSOD.
