I was trying to configure Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265 in 5ghz mode on a Dell Laptop. I am getting an error like channels configured are not supported in the driver. Does anyone have any idea regarding this ??

Hello APrak7,

Thank you for posting on this Intel Community.

For optimal connectivity, we recommend using the Recommended Settings for 802.11ac Connectivity.

If using 2.4 GHz band, use only channels 1, 6, or 11. If using the 5 GHz band, use channels 36, 40, 44, or 48. Keep in mind that some access points or wireless routers try to automatically select the best channel to use.

Make sure you are connecting to a 5 GHz network. Depending on the network connection and configuration, SSIDs (name of the network) are named differently to choose what frequency is the best.

Also, make sure you are running the latest Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) driver and operating system build.

I have used the IWLWIFI driver from the LinuxCore30 release, along with firmware version 36 for Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265. In access point mode, It works perfectly

on 2.4 GHz band and 20/40MHz channels but not supporting 5GHz band.

Although in Client mode it works perfectly in both the mode i.e 2.4 and 5 GHz.
