Want to read/write to the I210 registers through the JTAG interface. Questions, what are some of JTAG debugger devices and what JTAG debugging software do you recommend for this task?

In case that they are third-party units please give the part number, model, name of the manufacturer, where it is stated the information related to it. In case that it is your design, could you please clarify it has been reviewed by Intel and list the sources that you have used to develop it?

Hi Maecenas,

This is our design, have not reviewed by Intel and we currently don't have any resource to develop it. I am simply looking for a JTAG debugger that I can plug into the I210 JTAG port and either through command line or some software that I can use to read the I210 registers.

Hi Maecenas,

Thank you for your response. Do the JTAG tools, from your link above and I am reposting it here for reference: https://designintools.intel.com/product_p/stlgrn34.htm

allow me to read and write (when writeable) to all the PCIe registers found in chapter 9 of the data sheet? (https://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/datasheets/i210-ethernet-controller-datasheet.pdf)

If the JTAG tools allow only read/write (when writable) access to a subset of the PCIe registers then please list which subset or point me to a document that list this subset.

Thank you.
