[BUG] Civilization V textures

Bought Civ V a few days ago, only to find that DirectX 10/11 mode is pretty much broken for me, even with all the correct software installed and enabled. Doing a bit of research, I found that this has been a problem with Intel's graphics drivers since Q1 of last year... and it still hasn't been fixed.

Come on, Intel. It was working just fine before that new driver came out back in Q1 of 2013. Why hasn't this been fixed yet? I know Civ V isn't "visibly smart software," but this is ridiculous. I can run the game on medium gfx settings easily, but the textures for terrain all look like cheap plastic. Are you guys still working on this? If so, when can I expect a fix?

EDIT: Some sources also reporting this bug (this is not a freak happening):

I am sorry to hear that have had issues with the Intel Graphics Controller on your computer.

I would need more information in regards to your system configuration:

Operating system version?

Is your operating system 32 bit or 64 bit?

Also, the exact processor model on your system:

Click the Windows icon, and then right-click Computer .

Select Properties .

Find System Type on the Properties window, and then note the processor model.

Does this problem occur with drivers provided by the board or computer manufacturer?

Allan.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

My processor is the Core i3-2330M, with 2nd gen Intel HD graphics (Intel HD 3000).

I'm 100% sure that I have all the correct drivers (motherboard, chipset, etc.) installed from my OEM's site (Hewlett-Packard). The only exception is that I have the latest Intel HD 3000 driver installed from Intel's website instead of HP's site, but that shouldn't matter as I've been running the generic Intel-provided drivers for over a year now with no problems whatsoever in plenty of other games. In fact, I feel they give better performance than the ones that HP provides for the HD 3000, which is why I use Intel's instead.

Not to mention, the links I provided above reveal that this is a widespread issue that appears to affect all Intel HD graphics drivers released after April of 2013.

Thanks for the information.

I will check with engineering and I will come back with my findings. Thank you for patience and understanding.

Thanks for coming back to the community.

I forwarded this information to our engineering team but I do not have an update on this matter.

However, here's a video someone posted on YouTube of the same game being played on HD 2000.

Thank you for the update, Allan. I hope engineering can solve the problem, and I will continue to wait for a solution to the issue. In the meantime, I will try a few different graphics settings to see if I can produce a temporary solution myself.
