Do I need a discrete GPU?

Hi,

I am trying to build a desktop PC that I will be using mostly as a home workstation (e-mail; Word; Internet; Adobe Acrobat; Photoshop). I also need it for 4k video playback (TV or monitor).

Taking into consideration that I do not game, will be an Intel CPU with HD Graphics 4600 (H-Line) sufficient to process 4k video at 60Hz refresh rate? I mean can I do without a discrete GPU?

The idea is to save some money but still keep an opportunity to install a discrete GPU later if required. My research shows it is possible but since I am new to the stuff, I'd like to be sure that I get it right.

Thank you for every piece of advice!

Hi

Based on what you state as your usage model the system build you suggest, it will be more than adequate.

Thanks

Robert
