Unable to install latest Intel ARC drivers

Hello,

I'm unable to update my A770 drivers beyond 31.0.101.5085.

Updating from within ARC control center did not work so I uninstalled the drivers using DDU while in safe mode. Installing any driver newer then version 5085 frow within safe  mode does not work, only drivers without ARC control does not work either.

Installing 31.0.101.5085 works fine.

Anything bar full resinstalling windows that I can still try?

I found the problem, and the solution obviously.

Apparantly for some reason 'C:\Program Files\Intel\Media' is read only for me, removing the read only tag fixed the issues.

If anyone can explain why this file became read only that would be cool though.

It is not clear to me what method did you used to install the latest Graphics Driver?   Did you executed the .exe file? If not try it.

BTW, the easiest method to repair Windows installation is to perform an in place upgrade. The Windows is replaced without affecting your data and programs.

I tried both from within arc control and downloading the latest driver and executing the .exe files, same result

Hello again,

I have taken the following steps

Updated motherboard BIOS

Performed in place upgrade to repair my Windows installation

Fully updated Windows installation.

Updated Intel chipset drivers

Updated Intel serial IO drivers

Updated Intel ME drivers

Restarted into Windows safe mode

Uninstalled Graphics Driver using latest version of DDU

Restarted into Windows  safe mode

Tried to install the latest Graphics Driver using the .exe from the provided link

I get the error as shown in the attachment.

Also included the generated log

Installing driver 31.0.101.5085/31.0.101.5122 (WHQL Certified) works fine

Anything newer does not work.

What am I missing that I can't go beyond driver 5085?
