i7 3770k/HD4000 no signal to screen

Hi all

Can someone tell me if it is possible that the onboard graphics processor on my chip could completely fail, yet the CPU function perfectly normally? One day my PC acted as though there was no signal to the screen whatsoever. I tried different cables and connections to no avail. I got round the problem by installing a discrete graphics card. I figured at the time I might have a motherboard fault.

I have now built a new PC with my i7 chip. I was surprised to find that in my new motherboard I still had zero signal via DVI or HDMI from the onboard graphics ports on the motherboard. As soon as I installed the discrete card I had signal.

Is my HD4000 fried?

Best regards

I am sorry to hear that have had issues with the Intel® Graphics Controller.

Yes, you can get the graphics portion of the processor defective and the processor working properly because the on board graphics chip is integrated.

If you need warranty on the processor, I recommend contacting Intel support via chat at:
