Reinstalling Ubuntu On Euclid

Hi,

I have just received my Intel Euclid which is great. But regarding my application, I need to change the OS and reinstall Ubuntu. Also, I appreciate it if you let me know if later on, I decided to install again the origin OS ( the first OS which was installed on Euclid by default), where can I find the corresponding Image file? Or can I make a backup from it and use it later (how)?

Thanks for your consideration.

Bets Regards,

Omid

This link discusses an untested theory of how an OS of your own choice might be installed on Euclid.

That post discusses installing Debian with a boot stick. If you wanted to install Ubuntu instead, this is the official Ubuntu documentation's explanation of how to make an Ubuntu boot stick.

This link has the download link for the Euclid restoration image.

What is the procedure to flash the ISO into Euclid. I have downloaded and dd-ed the ISO image to a usb stick. When booted with the usb drive plugged in it just gets mounted instead of booting from the USB drive. I cannot find the procedure anywhere. Please help.

Thanks !.

Once you have inserted your boot stick, start up Euclid to boot Ubuntu. Very soon after power-up, look for a message about pressing a key to access the BIOS.

Press the key to stop boot-up and go into the BIOS.

Find the section of the BIOS settings that has the drive "boot order" that determines what storage devices are looked for first to try to boot from.

Move the USB stick to the top of this list to ensure that this is the device that is accessed first when an OS to boot to is being checked for.

Hi,

First by following the instruction mentioned in link bellow copy Euclid image on your Flash stick (this is not like a simple copy/past, this software makes a bootable flash stick).

https://tutorials.ubuntu.com/tutorial/tutorial-create-a-usb-stick-on-windows# 0 Ubuntu tutorials

Then plug your flash stick into Euclid and restart it. Imminently after that your Euclid restarted by pressing button F5 (maybe it is a different button for you but it worked work me) go to BIOS menu and select your flash stick as first boot option.

Then the Euclid goes to recovery mode and you can re-install the origin OS.

I hope it would be helpful.

Best,

Esrafilian , MartyG Thanks very much for your help. Finally managed to reflash the Euclid. Simply dd-ing the .iso to a flash drive didn't work. Although it mounts once Linux is booted it wouldn't boot under UEFI. I had to use Rufus to create a bootable flash drive. Thanks once again.
